Tufanbeyli Domestic Lignite Power Plant, which is considered to be the largest domestic lignite power plant in Turkey, built by the private sector, which we commissioned in 2016, is located in between Yamanlı-Kayarcık-Taşpınar villages in the Tufanbeyli district of Adana province. The capacity of the power plant, which works with fluidized bed technology, is 450 MW.
The power plant consists of 3 units and designated to have low water consumption. The plant is equipped with Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) to reduce dust emissions. There is also a limestone quarry plant to supply limestone. The limestone is used both in CFB boilers and Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system in order to reduce NOX and SOX emissions and meet the EU environmental norms and standards. Annual generation of the power plant is approximately 3,4 GWh (about 2% of Turkey’s demand) and in average 2 Tons of lignite processed per MWh of generation.
Tufanbeyli Solar Power Plant, one of Turkey's first hybrid power plant investments, produces environmentally friendly energy in a sustainable manner with its 5,3 MW capacity
